Our Collective Position
Read what is at the heart of what we want and where we stand. Our Collective Position should serve as an agreement to adhere to for anyone who supports this movement because they believe these 8 positions are essential to liberating Black Americans at this point in history.

Our Collective Position
Position #1 - Strategic Adaptability
We must remain flexible and maintain an objective, strategic posture at all times.
Positions will evolve. Structures will shift. Change may be uncomfortable, but adaptability is essential for building systems that last.
Position #2 - Unified Black Identity
We are prioritizing and uniting under our shared identity as Black Americans.
This identity is the common ground required to build coordinated systems, collective power, and long-term community infrastructure.
Position #3 - Systems Over Ideology
Our focus is on building the systems and infrastructure our community needs — not debating personal ideologies, identities, or beliefs.
We accept that disagreement is part of living in a diverse world.
Our priority is creating safe, functional, resourced communities where Black people have access to education, housing, health, economic opportunity, and the ability to govern ourselves.
Position #4 - Necessary Boundaries
We welcome support from non-Black individuals and institutions; however, decision-making power must remain with Black people.
Non-Black allies may play supportive or advisory roles, but they cannot shape or direct the governance systems we are building.
Position #5 - Accountability & Democratic Integrity
We must hold our Black "leaders" accountable in the same way we do our non-Black leaders. Transparency and Democracy are of the utmost importance. There are processes in the United States that are meant to ensure leaders are held accountable. With thousands of decision-making Black persons and institutions, we need a process that will empower the Black masses in a systemic way.
Position #6 - Humility & Systems Thinking
We do not claim to have all the answers. No small group could.
Our claim is that the current model for change is insufficient.
Given the complexity of the world we live in, a systems-based approach offers the most viable path to long-term power, stability, and self-determination.
Position #7 - Coordinated & Connected Work
We are committed to coordinated action across groups, organizations, sectors, and individuals.
Our goal is to unify our skills, resources, and expertise into a functional ecosystem — not to undermine or compete with one another.
Collaboration is not enough; we are building coordination.
Position #8 - Consequences For Refusal to Participate in Progress
If leaders with the authority and influence to bring systemic change refuse to engage, support, or stand with the community, there must be a consequence.
In some cases, that consequence may be the withdrawal of support, influence, or legitimacy.
Collective progress requires collective responsibility.
